AN ICE CUBE IN THE DESERT

An ice cube
flying over
the desert’s dunes.

Green and pink drops
of hope and pain
slowly descending,
baptising the sand.

Shortly they dissipate,
becoming part of the atmosphere.
Was it worth it?

As butterflies,
we leave nothing but
the footprint
of our experiences.

“Feel truly,”
I would say to myself,
“Make feelings solid,
give them dignity.
What was felt was real.”
